Stone is different from porcelain
Natural stone is beautiful because every piece is different, and that's also what makes it harder to install. It can stain, it can change colour with the wrong mortar, and its veining needs to be planned, not left to chance.
- Dry layout. We lay pieces out before setting them, so the veining flows and no two strong patterns land side by side.
- Book-matching. Mirrored slabs or tiles for feature walls behind a tub or vanity.
- White mortar for light stone. Grey mortar can show through white and light marble.
- Sealing. Stone is sealed before grouting where needed, and again at the end, with the right sealer for the stone.
- Careful cutting and edges. Mitred corners and polished edges where the stone is exposed.

Marble in showers
Marble works in showers when it's installed over a proper waterproofing system and sealed. It needs a little more care than porcelain: pH-neutral cleaners and resealing from time to time. We'll explain the care for your specific stone when the job is done.
Not countertop fabrication
We install stone tile and stone panels on walls, floors and showers. Countertops are made by stone fabricators; we're happy to work alongside them.
